During the first run of the giant slalom at the Paralympics, Kampschreur lost his ski in a speed run and fell, prompting immediate concern from officials.

NRK expert Beate Catrin Haugen warned that the sit‑ski bindings should be locked to prevent such incidents. Jesper Saltvik Pedersen currently sits third, while Italian Rene de Silvestro leads the field, 2.22 seconds ahead of the Norwegian.
